Cookie Policy

Last updated: July 10, 2026

This page explains, specifically, what cookies and browser storage Calixo uses. For the broader picture of what information we do and don't collect, see our Privacy Policy.

What's a cookie, and what's local storage?

A cookie is a small piece of data a website asks your browser to store and send back on future visits. Local storage is similar but stays entirely on your device and is never automatically sent to any server — that's the mechanism most of Calixo's own features actually use, which is why our footprint here is smaller than most sites.

None of these are cookies in the strict HTTP sense — they're all browser local storage, meaning they're never transmitted to our (or anyone else's) servers automatically. They exist purely so the Site remembers your preferences between visits.

Google Analytics cookies

CookiePurposeTypical duration
_gaDistinguishes unique visitors for aggregate traffic reporting2 years
_ga_<container-id>Persists session state for Google Analytics 4 property tracking2 years

Unlike the local-storage keys above, these are genuine HTTP cookies set by Google's own domain, used to measure aggregate site traffic (which pages are popular, how visitors typically navigate) — not to identify you personally. See Privacy Policy → Analytics for how to opt out.

Third-party advertising cookies

When advertising is active on the Site (via Google AdSense), Google and its advertising partners may set their own cookies — including the DoubleClick DART cookie — to serve and measure ads, including based on your visits to this and other sites. These are genuine HTTP cookies set by Google's domains, not by us directly, and only load after you accept the consent banner. Google's own documentation covers exactly what these cookies do: policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

How to control or clear cookies

You can accept or decline advertising cookies via the consent banner shown on your first visit — declining doesn't affect any calculator's functionality. You can clear everything listed above at any time by clearing your browser's site data for calixo.cloud, or from the "Your Library" page on the Site. Every major browser also lets you block cookies entirely or per-site:
